“He died several years ago…
On Guy Fawkes night.
He had a heart attack,
On the street…

People kept stepping,
Over him.
They thought he,
Was a guy…”

“How terrible for you?”

“It was…
There was only four and nine,
In his cap when we found him.
Not much for a man’s life…”

Miss Jones in ‘Rising Damp’

I am reminded of the quote by Chesterton I think…

“Whilst seriousness fumbles the latch,
Comedy slides in, under the door”

Is a BBC comedy a poem, maybe my reaction, my sampling of a moment makes it a poem…
Maybe the arrangement ?
As in music ?
Thoughts ?
